Speed, space, flexibility — your No.1 choice for overhead handling
The Spider (Sky-Shuttle) Case-Handling Robot is an innovative automation solution developed by BlueSword for modern warehouse environments. Designed to improve case storage and retrieval efficiency, the Spider system enables high-density storage and fast material handling while maximizing warehouse space utilization. Through its advanced mechanical design and intelligent control system, the robot offers a highly flexible and scalable solution for case-level warehouse automation.
Unlike traditional case-handling systems, the Spider robot adopts a compact winch-based lifting mechanism that allows it to retrieve and place cases at different heights without the need for a separate lift device. This design significantly reduces system complexity while improving operational efficiency and reliability.
The Spider robot is capable of handling cases weighing up to 50 kg and can access storage locations ranging from 160 mm to 12,000 mm in height. By utilizing overhead storage space, the system enables higher storage density and improved warehouse capacity compared with conventional automation solutions. Its four-way navigation capability allows the robot to move flexibly within the rack structure and operate efficiently even in complex warehouse environments.
One of the key advantages of the Spider system is its ability to adapt to irregular warehouse layouts. The system supports various configurations such as L-shaped, N-shaped, and T-shaped layouts, making it suitable not only for newly built automated warehouses but also for upgrading existing facilities with limited space or unconventional structures.
Through multi-robot collaboration and intelligent scheduling, the Spider system can achieve throughput levels of up to 1,000 cases per hour in a single aisle. This high level of performance enables warehouses to significantly improve picking efficiency and overall operational productivity. The modular design of the system also allows flexible scalability, enabling businesses to easily expand system capacity as operational demand grows.
In addition, the Spider system offers strong compatibility with other warehouse automation technologies. It can be seamlessly integrated with conveyor systems, AGV, AMR, and picking workstations, supporting both fully automated workflows and human-robot collaborative operations. With plug-and-play deployment, easy maintenance, and high operational stability, the Spider Case-Handling Robot provides a powerful automation solution for industries such as e-commerce, third-party logistics, retail distribution, and manufacturing logistics
